My brother on cosplaying

If you’re one of the awesome Fallout fandom geeky types that’s been following me, I thought I’d give you a headsup that I started a Fallout-themed blog. It started out of a dare my friend gave me to do a playthrough of Fallout New Vegas screencapping non-named NPCs, and now it’s sort of turned into a little project; but anyhow, it’s really nerdy, and it lives here: The Lives of Fallout NPCs.

So I did a bit of an experiment recently; to try and get to the bottom of the crippling wrist pains I’ve been getting over the past few months.

I spent a week not doing any crafts or drawing at all, but just playing videogames. My hands were fine.

Then I spent a week where I drew some comics, and played videogames; but no sewing of any type. Still all fine

Then the other day I did exactly this much sewing:

…and the pain started. A hard, vicious, stabbing pain: right from the second knuckle of my middle finger, in bursts all the way down to my forearm. And even though I stopped after those few stitches, it was painful that entire night, and ached a bit the next morning too.

SO I GUESS I’VE PINPOINTED WHAT’S BEEN CAUSING THE RSI. 

Unfortunately, for lack of a better solution at the moment: I’m going to stop sewing. I hate to have to do this, because I LOVE sewing and crafts, and they make me happier than anything, but I really need to prioritise looking after my hands. I might need them for something one day. 

So sorry, guys. Projects are over for the foreseeable.

Don’t fret lovelies, it’s nothing you said! I’ve just totally burnt myself out working hard for the last month on cross-stitch commissions and I need to take a break and work on some really silly fluffy stuff for friends instead. Thank you very much to all the lovely people who’ve messaged me on etsy and by email.

Anyhow, expect a spate of plushie making over the next few months, as it’s much quicker and easier on the fingers, and it’ll be nice to get back into that for a bit :)
